I believe that healing is only possible in a trusting relationship. I am committed to creating and maintaining such a safe, caring, and empathic space in which you can be vulnerable and honest during individual therapy. In the absence of any pretense or judgment, you will feel completely seen, heard, and understood. As time goes on and our therapeutic relationship strengthens, you will feel safe to disclose the thoughts, fears, and concerns that you’ve hidden from yourself and others.
Many of our most inexplicable and debilitating behaviors and beliefs stem from a childhood in which emotions and needs were dismissed, minimized, or ignored. These feelings become rooted in shame and are carried into adulthood, causing you to feel inadequate, unlovable, or broken. Mental health counseling can help unpack those emotions and work toward healing.
I have been working with the LGBTQ+ community for over 25 years, providing clinical services to clients. I am very comfortable and have knowledge of the community’s challenges and history. It is critical that you feel safe and accepted in a non-judgmental space as you work through issues concerning yourself, your partner or your family. I will provide that space through personal therapy.
