Seeking Therapy in Tampa, FL?
WE LIVE WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED
Are you considering solution-focused counseling services and seeking a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed therapist, nationally certified counselor, licensed mental health counselor, or mental health professional?
Seeking mental health counseling can feel overwhelming and anxiety-provoking. As a licensed clinical psychologist with over thirty years of experience, I have gained the knowledge and expertise to help clients suffering from a wide range of issues, such as obsessive thoughts, anxiety, self-doubt, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and problems in relationships. I provide counseling in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy to address your mental health concerns. As a therapist in Tampa, I also specialize in couples therapy.
Perhaps negative self-talk has hijacked your thoughts, leaving you feeling out of control. You’re unable to stop racing thoughts from going into worst-case scenarios. Maybe you’re facing sudden life-changing events, such as divorce, the death of a loved one, finding a partner, stress management, becoming a parent, getting married, or becoming empty-nesters.
I will help you overcome a lifetime of frustration, judgment, depression, anxiety, fear, and pain. Identifying the root cause of your stress is paramount to successful sessions.
I help couples experiencing relationship problems renew their love and understanding for each other.
Have difficulty controlling your anger? Early childhood trauma can lead to adult anger. Trauma affects how we learn to control our emotions. It shifts our attention, thoughts, and actions into survival mode.
I understand how debilitating OCD can be. Therapy will give you the space to express your concerns, recognize triggers, and identify associated symptoms.

You're Not Alone. Let's Work Together.
Through our work together, you will better understand old coping strategies that no longer serve you. You will learn to recognize unhealthy mental health patterns that prevent you from living an unburdened, lighter life. You will attain tools that help you unpack and identify how your life story shaped your view of yourself and your relationships.
Our collaboration in Tampa therapy will help you unravel whatever is holding you hostage within yourself and your relationships. We will uncover the implications of the past in your present life.
I also offer trauma therapy in my person-centered practice in St. Petersburg and Tampa, Fl. When you’ve endured a traumatic event, your body response may feel stuck in the trauma. For example, we respond to trauma in three ways: shutting down/numbing out, fighting, or fawning.
Our minds may shut down by dissociating to escape an anticipated danger such as anger from our partner. As a result of this shut-down, you lose access to the parts of your brain that think, speak, plan, and remember – leaving you confused, frozen, or hyper-alert.
Alternatively, you might constantly scan your environment and become hypervigilant. You may be easily startled, panicked, and fearful. This response keeps you alert to danger, but you believe that danger is around the corner throughout the rest of your life. This response holds you in a constant state of alert.
Or you could be a people pleaser, a fawner to meet others’ needs to be accepted or avoid confrontation, assuming the burden while neglecting your own needs.
Your trauma response evolved into mental health issues that helped you survive your painful experiences. Through our work together, you will become more self-aware, reflected in your interactions with yourself and others.
I am here for you.
